VOL. 43  /  ON A ROLL

Thanks to all of you who stopped by The Brunch Market on Sunday! It was so fun to meet some members and welcome new ones. Keep the upcoming markets on your radar; based on the amazing vendors this past weekend, you can count on plenty more in the future.

Fun perk for you in today's newsletter, and your last chance to sign up for our Boho ride tonight!

Weekend, here we come!

Maven

Made

We’re not beauty experts, not by a long shot. Which explains why we were so skeptical of the facial serum sample we received at Rebelle Con last November. What even is facial serum? (Again, not beauty experts.)

It took us several months to try that little blue vial from Richmond’s own Maven Made, and now we regret every day this miracle wasn’t in our lives. We. are. obsessed. Addicted. But in a healthy, self-care-y way.

Maven Made’s facial serum has drastically improved our skin and has given us major glow. Plus, we love the zen ritual of the evening application. It just feels like a treat, and the smell is dreamy. #notsponsored

We’re hooking you up with a perk (which we’re using on those astrological rollers): use code HEREMAVEN for 15% off purchases through July 31!

Nate's

Bagels

At long last, Richmond finally has a good bagel place. In fact, Nate’s Bagels was recently named the best spot to get bagels in Virginia.

Proudly standing at the corner of S. Allen & W. Cary, this shiny new (and orange!) establishment seriously brings it. The bagels are hot and fresh like the coffee, and we highly recommend their breakfast sandwiches (our fav was The Glamper).

The shop is the fun kind of busy, so grab a friend and head there for a quick breakfast this weekend!

River City

Roll

River City Roll makes for a solid night out. It’s a complete experience: drink, food, activity. Bring a pack of friends or a first date.

Our signature bowling alley move (questionable that we have one…) is, when inputting your names on the screen, skip your given names and use famous diva or sports star names. Imagine hollering that it’s Cher’s turn or congratulating LeBron on his strike.

While you’re playing, you’ll obviously need nourishment. This isn’t average bowling alley food. The seasonal menus are adventurous but approachable, and the fries… unreal.

Boho Private Ride

In which we work out together and then drink wine.

We’ve long been obsessed with Boho, our gorgeous hometown cycle studio (named one of the 12 Most Beautiful Fitness Studios on Instagram). These 50-minute spin classes are a total blast thanks to the pumping music and infectious instructor energy.

On Thursday, July 19, Here. is taking over Boho’s Museum District studio for a private ride! And we want you to come! Obviously. Your finish line reward? We will offer a well-earned wine tasting from Veritas Vineyard & Winery: red, white and bubbly.

Spots are limited, so book now!

Stay Day

It’s often hard to figure how to give back. Good news: we found an awesome, easy opportunity for you.

We recently discovered Stay RVA and identified with their mission of making Richmond a place people want to stay.

Among their many programs, Stay RVA hosts what they call Stay Days, in which the community is invited to support Richmond youth via school beautification projects.

Their next Stay Day is on July 21, when volunteers will head out to either Thomas Jefferson High School in the West End or Fisher Elementary School in Southside to beautify those spaces. All you need is a paintbrush! Good feels guaranteed.

VOL. 41  /  SUNBURN

Yesterday's mid-week holiday was just a teaser for all of the fun to be had this weekend. Props if you extended your vacation a couple days. For those of you facing re-entry this morning, these ideas will carry you to Saturday, back to break mode and those classic Americana vibes.

Who's already sunburned?

Don't

Look Back

This vibrant, spunky taco joint has been resurrected following a fire in its original home in Carytown, and is open now in Scott’s Addition. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have it back!

Go traditional or gringo when ordering from quite a variety of tacos and pair them with a jalapeño-orange marg. They also offer a killer half-price happy hour Monday-Friday 3-6pm. While you're there, pick up a game of pool or shuffleboard - Tuesdays you play free!

West

Side Story

Virginia Repertory Theatre is currently hosting a not-to-be-missed production of the classic, West Side Story. You’ll get all of the romantic Romeo-and-Juliet feels in this musical rendition of the two star-crossed lovers. Epic song and dance are guaranteed.

Bring a friend along for an afternoon show, or make a proper night out of it with dinner to start.

Pool

Time

The Fourth doubles as a celebration of all things summer, so we hope you're water-bound this weekend. In last week's volume, we broke down enjoying the best of the James River. Now, we're going poolside with a few tactics for your consideration.

First, did you know the city of Richmond maintains seven public pools as part of the parks system? Yes, you heard us right: free pool access. Check the schedule for open vs family vs adult swims.

Consider checking into the Graduate for a staycation and bask rooftop by their pool with a drink in hand.

And don't forget the classic: hit up your friends to tag along to their apartment or club pool!
